About

The University of Macedonia Data Portal was created for the needs of the Dissertation of student Selmanis Anastasios.

The Dissertation was for the master's degree in Information Systems (MIS) of the University of Macedonia.

The basic objective of the Portal is to be used from the University as a tool for publishing Open Data.

Another use of the Portal can be for the central storage of the University documents and their load through the CKAN API.

The University of Macedonia Data Portal is a compilation of CKAN, Drupal and OpenLink Virtuoso.

The frontend of the application is created via Drupal. The Data Management system is based in CKAN. The RDF TripleStore used from the Portal is based in OpenLink Virtuoso.

For the uniformity of the Portal and the partial integration between the systems we have created the below extensions:

• uom-sparqlEndpoint: A javascript plugin for the SPARQL Querying functionality to the portal's RDF triples.
• uom-ckan: A javascript plugin for the transport of the Portal Datasets into our Drupal application.
